Opportunities
Alaska Village Missions (AVM) is a non-denominational, evangelical ministry that has been reaching Alaska for Christ for more than fifty years.
AVM is a ministry dedicated to reaching the native people of Alaska with the Gospel, equipping believers for Christian service at Alaska Bible Institute, and broadcasting hope across Alaska through Christian Radio.

Ministry Opportunities
Missionary Teacher in Remote Village
Many Villages are in desperate need of full-time certified teachers. You would live in the village and be paid through the school system. Most likely, you would be working in a multi-grade classroom. You must have your Alaska Teaching Certification and would apply online through the school system. Working as a teacher in a village is one of the most effective and impactful ways to minister to these villages. It will help you build connections and relationships with many families and show that you are there to serve. AVM would work with you as you seek to minister to the families and share the gospel outside of the classroom through the relationships you have developed in the classroom. If you are interested, please contact Anna Gonzalez.
ABI Kitchen Aid
ABI prepares three meals each weekday for approximately 30 students. The Kitchen Aid would help the head chef plan, prepare, and cook these meals. If you are interested, contact Zach McQueen.
Missionary Pastor in a remote village
Many of the villages in Alaska are too small to financially support a full-time pastor. Until local members are discipled and trained to lead themselves, this requires dedicated servant-leaders who are willing to either work part-time in the village to support themselves while pastoring or raise the financial support needed to live in the village full-time. Please contact us here if you feel like God may be calling you into this ministry.
Missionary Pilot / Mechanic
AVM needs a trained and experienced Commercially-rated fixed-wing pilot to help us get to and from the remote villages safely. This position requires the applicant to raise all their own support and be accepted by AVM as a full-time missionary. Because we only have one plane currently, and are not traveling every week, our pilot would need to fill other ministry needs as well, according to their giftings and interests. Some examples might be overseeing the airplane, office/management work, construction/maintenance, discipling ABI students, village ministry, etc. For more information, contact Jeff Lowe.
AVM/ABI Office Manager
Are you a gifted or skilled office manager? Do you enjoy helping ministry to go smoothly by organizing the unorganized? There is a joint AVM / ABI office manager position open. This is a full-time ministry position that requires the applicant to raise his or her full support. For more information, or to apply, contact Jeffry Butter, the AVM Director of Operations.
Full Time Instructor
Alaska Bible Institute is currently looking for a full-time Bible teacher. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Bible or Christian Ministry. Contact ABI President, Eric Rozeboom.
